Zest Bistro - Bristol, City of

My 90-year-old mother and I were on a trip and had a two-hour break in Cabot Circus. I decided we should grab a bite to eat at House of Fraser before continuing our day. We stumbled upon Zest Bistro and stood by the "Please wait here to be seated" sign. However, we stood for over ten minutes as the staff seemed to ignore us despite there being plenty of available tables. I had to nearly chase down a waitress who rudely told us to wait because she was too busy. At that point, we would have left if we knew we could eat elsewhere. Eventually, we were seated at a table next to two young women who were served before us. Our meals were lackluster, with my fish finger sandwich lacking any actual fish. The bill came to a hefty 27 pounds. Before leaving, we discovered that three out of the four toilets, including the disabled one, were out of order.

I visited the restaurant on January 26th, 2019 for breakfast. I ordered a tea/coffee and waited awhile for it to arrive. However, the wait for my two sandwiches and Eggs Benedict was even longer. It was so frustrating that I almost cancelled my food order. I was very disappointed and will not be returning to this cafe.

I went to this restaurant with a friend just before Christmas. The service and food were both excellent. I would definitely return. I ordered fresh apple juice and an open sandwich with thinly sliced feta cheese, green leaf salad, juicy tomatoes, and dressing.

My sister and I went into this caffe for a scones and a potte today and we were really appalled at the quality of scenes and services. we ordered “Gourmet scenes with saw and jam”. the skorone arrived there was enormous and. with a generous amount of jam and saw. but this is the only good piece. the scones were hard as pale and we couldn't eat much of it. we mentioned to the waiter that we did not enjoy it because it was heavy and dry. he did not even react to say, “Shot”. I expected to load this caliber and at this price better. the environment was beautiful, but not the quality of the food.

Decided to visit for a quick drink and cake stop. Service extremely slow, should be table service but no one came to take my order so I went to the till. Coffee was luke warm and one child’s drink didn’t arrive at all. Another table...returned their two coffees for not being hot. Cake was dry. Not good value-disappointing.
