Frankie Benny's New York Italian Restaurant Bar Cabot Circus

The ambiance at this restaurant is uncomfortable and quite chaotic. The food is typical of a chain restaurant like Frankie and Bennys.

I have had better microwave meals from a grocery store. The food was absolutely awful and overpriced. It was a very quiet Tuesday evening and I suspect the chef was off for the night, with the kitchen porter cooking the food instead.

I went to this restaurant on February 20th to celebrate my Sister's birthday. My Sister is vegan, and my Mum has many allergies. We were attended to by Jo and Cam, who were both very kind, patient, and attentive to our dietary restrictions. They even surprised my sister with a birthday song and a candle in her vegan cookie dough, which was a hilarious moment for all of us! The food and drinks were all delicious (I especially loved the Mac n cheese burger and the Blueberry mocktail). It was a wonderful time and definitely made my sister's day special.

We were shown to a table, then completely Ignored for minutes, not even an acknowledgment to let us know someone would be with us! Tables who say after us were being served whilst we were waiting! Even when we gave up and walked out...the staff just looked right through us.

We booked a table on a very busy Saturday evening, when Cabot Circus was packed with Christmas shoppers. The queue to get in was a mile long and people were being turned away, so we felt lucky to get seated as quickly as we were....Special mention to the lady on the desk greeting customers, as she was lovely and helpful. Staff were fantastic, incredibly friendly, efficient and happy. The food (though basic) was all perfectly cooked and brought out swiftly. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in a chain restaurant and the tip was well deserved. Everything was clean, tables, cutlery, toilets. The music was the right volume,.The bill was correct. It’s all evidently extremely well managed. The only baffling thing was all the unused tables we counted during our visit. Whole rows of them. We wondered if they were too short staffed to run a full restaurant. But… Covid or Brexit are probably underlying reasons if that’s the case. The kids meals are good value and we would eat here again while visiting Bristol.
