Bidrage med feedbackDinner at The Pantry was generally decent but difficult to justify unless you are staying at hotel and convenience is what you were after. The meal was generally good but nothing stood out as excellent or would entice me to return. The food served felt 'safe ' and boring. Entrée of asparagus was nice but the ball of mozzarella was stone cold. The lamb shank was extremely tender for the main, but a single lamb shank did not justify the price. Desert of Rhubarb and Vanilla Panna Cotta was tasty and crunchy on the top half while bland on the bottom half. Service was excellent. I did feel that they were tight on the quantify of wine served. I paid for a 'tall glass ' and got barely half full.
The entree was pretty good, with a delicious olive's patté ... the fresh past was a bit spicy, but despite that was delicious and really loaded with meet. Desert was normal.
Had a Groupon 2 courses dinner last night at Pantry restaurant in the Novotel hotel. Set-up is quite grand and I love the ceiling decor. Serivice deserves thumb-up due to the fact that the waiter automatically asked if we need some dish dish plate to share or entree, which is a very good observation and taking care of the diners. That is what we mean by service. Ordered the entrees of Thai Spicy Fried Calarmari, Salt Pepper Chicken Wings and mains of Grilled Pork Cutlets 400g Sirloin (they did not have the rib fillet last night). Portions of chicken wings seemed too small for the price of $36 and the texture was too dried, however, taste was good. Texture of calamari was not consistent but the sauce was delicious. Cuilinary skill on the sirloin and pork cutlet is good, particularly the sirloin was done perfectly med-rared (the best degree of steak preparation lately). We were filled up so full that our stomach could not accommodate any dessert. Overall, I feel happy with the dinner, particularly with a good deal from Groupon. Having said that, the menu's prices seems to be reasonable except the chicken wings. Recommend foodies to have a go!
Is perfect a word for food. My husband and I dine out every week and it amazes me why this restaurant is never very busy. The food is perfect and if you do not think this is a word for food then you could use the words 'just right '. The meals are not too salty and the desserts are not too sweet. You can have three courses and feel content and satisfied, not hungry or overly full.<br/ <br/ My husband and I had three courses each, all diiferent. The flavours were delicate, tasty, and not over powering. I had prawns for entre, duck the best I have ever had) for main and pavlova for dessert. The desserts are designer, if that is the right word, the pavlova was not a triangular massive piece of cream, it was two small delicate morsels of yummy. My husband had crab and pork spring rolls followed by barbeque pork chops, then the sticky date. We had six items from the menu and we could not find a fault in one of them.<br/ <br/ Now for the rest. The service was as good as the food, it could not be faulted. I forgot to mention the food is served on interesting shaped plates to match the food it is served on, this adds to the enjoyment of dining out. You even get cloth serviettes a novelty these days). We frequent this restaurant a couple of times a year, but I feel we will be going more often as the places we have been to of late, well, have fallen very short of the prices they are asking. If you are charging more than $30 for a main, you have to come up with the goods and that is what 'The Restaurant ' has nailed.
Beautiful food. We had the salmon and sizzling steak. Only knocked it down a star as we waiting quite a while for our order to be taken even though the restaurant was not busy. Definitely worth a try. Would return.
