Indian Mehfil - Brisbane

We ordered coconut rice, salmon tikka, and an okra dish (bindhi masala). The "coconut" rice was plain basmati with a sprinkle of coconut. It should have been cooked in coconut milk. The fish was inedible. It was so "fishy" that we took one bite and couldn't go on. The worst was the okra. It was simply okra cooked with tomato sauce and onion. No Indian slices at all. The menu said it had curry leaves and whole chillies. That was a lie. We asked specifically for very spicy there was no chilli at all. The most annoying thing was the stories the waiter came up with when we complained.We could go on and on but in short if you like Indian food this is not the place for you.

The Indian Mehlfi restaurant would be best described as amazing Indian... Starting with a Mango Lassi drink, you say " I hope the food is just as good" .. AND IT WAS.. beautiful. Had butter Chicken and lamb Rogan Josh.. Fresh, quick and wonderful flavours.. Best Indian Ive had in a long time... So good, im having for a second night in a row. Prices are a touch on the high side but well worth it. Medium size servings are just right for a dish each. My recommendation is grab some friends and share a range of dishes.

I walked in on a Thursday night as the restaurant appeared to be shutting down. Rather early at 8pm but I was able to be seated. The food was pleasant enough and quite tasty but I never think it is a good idea to start cleaning up around your customers, especially when they are paying good money to eat. Wait ten minutes until I have left!!

This place is located close to the business end of the the city and obviously caters to quite a few business customers and travellers staying in the nearby upmarket hotels .I found the quality of the food very variable -some fabulous -some average. Not all of it as hot as it should have been,breads for example.If you like heat/.chilli in your curry you should order fresh Chilli rather than in your meals when you get chili paste or powder added. the service was quite good and attentive but l would suggest the place would benefit from turning the overhead music down.

Waiting for my friend to turn up from Melbourne so I had to dine alone. I love Indian food and this is one of the best. The service was great, the atmosphere was great and the food spectacular.
