Bidrage med feedbackWe ordered 2 servings of Butter Chicken, 1 serving of Lamb Korma, 3 orders of Saffron rice, and 2 pieces of Garlic Naan from Menulog for pick-up. Unfortunately, we were surprised by the 50-minute wait time. Despite it being a Saturday night, there was no one dining in the restaurant when we arrived to pick up our food. Feeling hungry and frustrated, we waited an additional 5 minutes for our food to be retrieved. The dishes we received were disappointingly bland and lacking in flavor. Both servings of Butter Chicken were different colors and tasted virtually the same - bland with minimal meat. Even the Garlic Naan was flavorless. Overall, we were extremely dissatisfied with the quality and taste of the food, and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was overpriced and not worth the money we spent.
We arrived at the restaurant around 7:00pm. Upon entering, we noticed that the tables were uncomfortably low, similar to coffee tables, which made for a bad eating posture. We rang the bell to be seated and given a menu, then rang it again to place our order. We waited for a wine glass but eventually grabbed one ourselves and were then charged a corkage fee (even though it was a screw top bottle). The meal was served and unfortunately, the food was of poor quality. The vegetables looked like they came from a bag with sauce poured over them, the naan was oily and had to be wiped with napkins, the lamb was tough and seemed like leftovers, the beef lacked flavor, the rice was sticky, and the poppadoms were overly oily and soggy. We left most of the dishes uneaten due to concerns about our health. On a positive note, the wine we brought from a nearby store was enjoyable, but not enough to make up for the subpar food. We rang the bell to pay the bill at the end of the meal. Despite the disappointing experience, it's evenings like this that make us appreciate a good restaurant. This review was written within 30 minutes of finishing our meal and reflects our honest and unfortunate experience.
I ordered from Glory of India on UberEATS and waited over an hour for my delivery on a peaceful Tuesday evening. I had ordered a chicken tikka masala with saffron rice and cheese and spinach naan. The curry was disappointing, lacking in flavor until you came across unground chunks of spice. The saffron rice appeared to have little to no saffron, as it was very pale in color. The naan was decent, but only because I was hungry and unable to eat the curry. This was by far the worst Indian food I have ever tried.
I had lamb madras, the lamb was cooked well but the curry was just bland and boring. The garlic nam was soggy and far too chewy. There are just so many better quality Indians out there at half the price. Would not recommend.
I received a brochure in the mail, so checked Trip Advisor. I found eight excellent reviews so I was keen to try this local restaurant. We love to be able to walk down to Wilston Village with a bottle of wine. I was annoyed with myself for not having tried it earlier, but I recalled some bad reviews when it first opened. It was a Wednesday night and only one other couple was dining. They were already eating. We quickly ordered. Ages later some pappadams arrived. Some time later our entrée of Fish Pakora arrived. It was delicious. Throughout the night at lengthy intervals, what we ordered, but one item at a time. The next to arrive was Tandoori Chicken again, delicious, but we did not want to eat it on its own. We had not even received our Naan bread yet. After another long wait, our vege curry (a bit too sweet and creamy and not tasty enough), rice and eventually, naan bread arrived. These would have gone well with the Tandoori Chicken. I have no idea why service was so slow. Another couple arrived much later than us and seemed to receive their meal fairly promptly. In all, there were only three couples at the restaurant throughout the night. I had been planning to invite my adult children there, but am hesitant now.
