Bidrage med feedbackAfter hearing good things about Black Hide, we decided to check it out for ourselves. The ambience was nice, staff were attentive. The food let me down slightly, especially for the price. We had the ribs for entree (super soft and was delicious - probably the favourite of the night) as well as the beef carpaccio. The carpaccio was a bit of a let down - I think it needed more flavour. Yes, I understand that the natural flavour of the beef was highlighted, but it needed something more. We then ordered two wagyu eye fillet steaks with a side of the zucchini. Firstly, I didn't even think of it until we got home, but I have feeling we weren't given the wagyu steak. I have had wagyu many times before and this steak didn't have any marbling. So either the wagyu here has no marbling, or we were given the Angus and paid for the wagyu. If I had picked up on this at the restaurant I would have checked, but unfortunately I didn't even think about it at the time. In fact, my thoughts at the time were that I have had much more impressive wagyu steak at other places before. Maybe it is because I was expecting wagyu and got Angus instead. Who knows. Overall, yes, this place does good food and it is well cooked. But honestly, I wasn't particularly wowed by this place in terms of flavours and I don't feel the need to return given the price and what we had on the night.
We had a lovely lunch on Friday with friends. The service was wonderful. The first personal contact I had was with Georgia on the phone and from that moment I knew we were in for a great lunch. We had 3 starters to share which were all beautiful and the fish or steaks for mains. There are so many restaurants that advertise that they are the best steak restaurants but this one has every reason too.It was our first visit to Black hide but definitely won't be our last.
An extremely refined atmosphere, a relatively small restaurant with very good service and excellent food. Probably the best beef we had on our 3-week trip.
Was in brisbane for business trip was feeling like a steak so went to this place staff very well versed in the menu could answer every question. Nice warm restaurant on winters night. Beef ribs were perfect juicy tasty goodness. Had Wagyu eye fillet was worth every cent very much the best steak ive had in a long time.
Intimate atmosphere, good food, good wine, good service. One of the better steakhouses in Brisbane city.
