Bidrage med feedbackI searched for the best Thai restaurants in Brisbane before bringing my food critic friend here. I regret not going to Nandos instead. The spring rolls were below average, the Laksa had too many noodles and not enough vegetables, and the fish special was terrible – it was like rubber. All the dishes arrived at once and we had to send them back until we were ready. The fish dish finally arrived cold and rubbery after we had finished our Laksa. The rice also arrived late and was not good. This was the first time I had a bad Thai meal, so it was very disappointing. The decor was unappealing, with malfunctioning lights and a cold atmosphere. We had to keep getting up to close the door. I wish we had chosen another restaurant. It was a disappointing and embarrassing night. I was mortified and extremely annoyed.
The restaurant, formerly known as Bow Thai, still bears the same sign out front. We decided to dine here based on the positive reviews for Bow Thai, unaware that it had undergone a change. Our experience began on a high note with a delicious starter, but went downhill from there. The main courses were mediocre and lacked flavor.
I googled the best thai restaurants in Brisbane before taking my food critic friend here. I wish we had gone to Nandos instead. The spring rolls were v below par.The Laksa portion was generous but too many noodles and not enough vegetables. The fish chefs special was just horrible. It was worse than rubber. All of the food came out together - where it was going to fit on the table I didn't know. We sent it back until we were ready. So the cold rubbery and disgusting fish dish arrived finally when we had finished our Laksa. Not a new one but the same old one. Also the rice didn't arrive at the same time and even that wasn't nice.I don't think I have ever had a bad thai meal ever so this was SO disappointing. The decor is awful and none of the lights work. The restaurant is cold and we had to keep getting up to close the door. I wish we had gone somewhere else. What a disappointing and embarrassing night. Mortified and highly annoyed.
Service with a smile and I'm afraid that's about all. The food came out hot but was definitely a re-heat. Disappointing as this place was recommended to us. When you have an entree then a main, to bring everything out at once isn't the way to go. The fish wasn't fresh. Maybe it was an off night for this place, we were the only ones in at one point, so there really was no excuse. I won't be trying this place again that's for sure.
Aroy thai kitchen is definitely the best Thai restaurant in brisbane. Had amazing experience dining here. Very cozy place and very nice food and wide range of wine. I love their penang curry and whole baramundi with the amazing chef's special sauce. I am going back for sure !!
