Bidrage med feedbackI visited Planet India for the first time, on a friends recommendation. and my first time trying a vegetarian restaurant. I tried the paneer and pee curry alongside a very spicy chick pea curry. It was fantastic. And the selection of beers were a great accompaniment. Really enjoyed the night, and will definitely return when home visiting again.
Planet India, Brighton, UK, Earth, 10ish Years Later... A long-dreamed-of reunion. The dish to eat every day forever. The desert island dinner. Fresh coriander, tamarind sauce, crunchy stuff. Sweet holy Jebus and the devil 's own never-you-mind, it even has plump bright pomegranite seeds. Crash, bang and wallop. Good old Nilish. Still grinning, but now with shoes on ...seemed rude to ask if this was the new norm, sorry if it is to say so now, but largely irrelevant really anyway). Still the purveyor of the finest bhel puri this side of Fiji and indeed the easternmost island of Caroline, Kiribati. Still vibing that relaxing reggae ambience. So what 's new? That siren of the tastebuds, the tamarind sauce has gotten excuse the US slang) sweeter and greater in ml unless my tongue or memory deceive me). We shoulda oughta 'ordered sooner one of the 4 or so comic varieties of cumin rice from the snazzily jazzed-up, humorously phrased menu the +2p version is money well spent) to quell the delicious tang a def-con or so. There 's loads we didn 't try, but the pani puri has the best crispy basket and liquid components of any I 've previously tried. Those little cake pieces khaman dhokla) are so fluffy and light, and accompanied by so delicious a somewhat hotter, smokier sauce, I almost heard the Lark Ascending anew. Slosh over a load of exquisite choice lagers and, hey presto, your salivary glands are involuntarily squirting like billy-o in a steam driven piston engine. F% ^ing bravo!
What a gem of a place! Never had this style of Indian food before. The starters were a different type of treat. The food was great and the service excellent. It does a surprisingly good range of beer for an Indian restaurant. The menu's quirky descriptions deserve a special mention.
This truly is my favourite restaurant, third visit with my daughter, and it just gets better each time. My taste buds were given a delightful workout.
Great quality Indian vegetarian food, very quirky, very Brighton. Decent range of drinks. Definitely worth a visit..
