Caffe Italiano - Brighton and Hove

I was disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I used to come here often in the past and always found it quite good, so I decided to give it another try. We were promptly seated, greeted, and ordered our meals. We started with antipasto to share and a Peroni. However, the problems arose with our main dishes. As soon as my partner finished her starter and went to the restroom, our main dishes arrived immediately. She hadn't even returned yet. When she did come back, she was greeted with a large serving of pasta. I had ordered the tagliatelle filetto and my partner had ordered the linguine and crab special. I took a bite and the waitress was already rushing over to ask if everything was okay.

This restaurant is absolutely terrible. The service is the worst we have ever experienced. We had stopped coming here two years ago due to consistently bad service at various locations. After a two-year hiatus, we decided to give it another try, only to find that the service had somehow gotten even worse. The staff is rude and completely ignores the customers. We had a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday night. When we arrived at 7:25, we were told to just sit and wait as they directed us to a table in the corner (without anyone escorting us to the table). Despite our attempts to get the waitress's attention, we were completely ignored for 25 minutes. In that time, two other couples entered the restaurant and one man was also ignored. It was a complete disaster.

AWFUL. This so called restaurant has the worst service in the world. We were regulars here until years ago when we recieved poor service on a number of occasions. However after a year absence we tried it again and the service is even worse now than it was then. The staff are rude and totally ignore the customers. we were booked in on Saturday evening for We arrived at and were told to sit there being pointed to a table in the corner. no attemt to take us to the table)We sat down and despite numerous attempts to attract the waitress`s attention we were promptly ignored for minutes. During this time other couples came into the restaurant and to a man the were ignored whilst the staff stood around talking to each other. We will never go back to this establishment -EVER!!!

Disappointing. Well I have often been here in the past but not recently so thought it's worth a try because it's always been pretty good. We sat down, nicely greeted and had a quick look at the menu and ordered. The antipasto to share was fine as was the peroni. The problems started with the main meal. Literally straight after my partner had finished her starter she went to the toilet. Within a minute the main meal was on the table, she hadn't even come back! So she sat and was greeted with what I can only describe as a pile of pasta. I ordered the tagliatelle filetto, and my partner the special which was linguine and crab. I had one mouthful and the waitress was over is everything ok before I'd even swallowed it. I just said fine. As I carried on I realised it wasn't really fine but not wanting to make a fuss I carried on eating it. The sauce was plain with a strange taste, it was supposed to have white wine? The fillet steak was nice but ruined by the sauce, I had tomato skins and the green stalks in my food plus you could have fed people with it. My partner's was ok but again a great pile served with no finesse, crab shell and far too much crab blended into it, just over powering and not done very well. Having said that her sauce was much better. At the end of the meal I had every intention of paying for it putting it down to experience. When asked by the waitress if everything was ok I aired my grievances. She informed the chefs who then informed the manager who incidentally did not even come to see us, no problem. I asked for the bill but it never came, so we sat there another mins wanting to leave. I ended up going to the counter and again aired my disappointment only to be rudely almost shouted at, Did the waitress ask if everything was ok? he repeated this twice!! I said yes but within a minute and again I said I have no problem paying the bill but there was shell in the pasta and my sauce was terrible. Oh sorry is all I got, didn't even offer to pay our drinks bill which was only a peroni and a coke!! Well I can safely say I won't be returning after not even receiving a correct apology and treated like some idiot trying it on. I think looking at the kitchen staff too this must be the most unauthentic italian I have ever been to. If you go, have the pizza!

Not precise I ordered tea (honey ginger lemon) expecting that it’s tea but ended up with water mixed with honey lemon and ginger without tea.Anyway it was good but i hope you be more precise in describing drinks
