Bidrage med feedbackWent into The Dragon for a drink and a meal, just to get out for a while, bearing in mind we are in tier 2 lockdown there were 2 large groups of people having Christmas parties and other groups of people clearly breaking lockdown rules. The language coming from one of the groups who seemed to be related to the landlady was foul repeatedly using the “c” word) had my dinner and a pint but couldn’t wait to get out of there. I appreciate pubs are trying to recoup their losses but they’re not helping themselves really by allowing this. The food was surprisingly tasty seeing as it was only being served to allow people in to drink but apart from that not a pleasant experience
The Dragon is now an extremely friendly pub with an American themed menu in the restaurant. A group of us visited last Friday, primarily to watch the racing and we couldn’t believe how well we were looked after. We were given a lovely selection of food throughout the afternoon, at no cost and we never needed to go to the bar there was always someone on hand checking if we needed any drinks. Two of us returned on Monday evening with our wives to try the restaurant. We were not disappointed! We had a couple of drinks in the bar first, which had a very friendly atmosphere (and lovely garlic bread handed out). The food in the restaurant was excellent. Ribs, burgers, chicken wings and a chicken wrap were our choices. There was also a decent selection of specials on a board. All served piping hot with a choice of side dishes. The portions are very genourous and everyone that served us did it with a smile and a genuine interest as to whether everything was ok. Prices were very fair as well. I was told by others that the Sunday lunch is excellent, we will try that soon! Thank you to everyone at the Dragon. We look forward to becoming regulars in our revitalised local!!
Mid-afternoon visit for drinks to this friendly pub catering for families, groups of friends and locals. Liked the range of real ales to choose from as well as standard pumped beers and enjoyable chilled wines for the ladies. Sports TV and pool table.
Not sure where to start really. The music was so loud we couldn't even speak to each other, we had to yell. The halloumi sticks were so burnt we thought they were black pudding slices. The macaroni cheese had a rock hard lump of pasta with black bits in it. The rest of the Mac and cheese was edible. The chips weren't triple cooked they were like bits of splintered wood. We eat what we could because we were hungry. The service wasn't really great either we couldn't get out of there quick enough suffice to say that we won't be back.
Two of us called into this pub for a drink. It was very noisy and half full with mainly elderly customers, most of whom were looking at international cricket on the pub TV. We ordered a glass of wine and a bottle of sparkling water. They were out of stock of the sparkling water and Soda water was offered instead. Running out of something so basic does that suggest something about the management of this pub?????
