Joy Luck Buffet - Brentwood

The food at this restaurant was unappetizing and quickly turned cold. My daughter chose jello from the buffet, but it was dry and had clearly been sitting out for some time. The food overall was very dry, and the broccoli I ordered was hard and undercooked. The grill was not even open, and the waiters were impolite. I do not recommend this place at all. The area was dirty, and when we requested fresh food, the staff began speaking in Chinese and laughing at us. All the food seemed dry and old. It was an unpleasant, disgusting, and overpriced experience. 0 out of 5 stars.

I paid for 5 buffets, 3 kids, 2 adults, and drinks which totaled $75. This seemed like a lot of money to me, especially since drinks were supposed to be included in the price. The buffet had a very limited selection of food, and what was available tasted bland and unappetizing. Despite ordering 2 cokes, 2 Dr. Peppers, and a sprite, all of the drinks tasted watered down. I tried to get the waitress's attention multiple times, but she seemed to prioritize serving white customers over me. When I pointed out that the drink machine was not working properly, she simply called someone else over and I had to settle for lemonade. The service was poor overall, with one waiter spending the whole time on his phone. I also felt discriminated against, as we were made to pay upfront before getting a table, while other customers paid when they were leaving. The restaurant also automatically added an $11 gratuity charge for our group of 5, which I found unfair, especially considering they still expected a tip on top of that. I would not recommend this place.

The hotpot was average. I have had better ones in larger cities. We ordered a half-half soup base and found that the spicy side was a bit too strong. If I visit again, I will ask if I can have the hot chilies and seasonings on the side. I will try that next time and write a new review.

The food was great. I know the owners probably don't like it but I really enjoy being there when it was not crowded. There's construction so you have to come in from Brentwood and I guess they're losing business because of it which is really unfortunate. However, I enjoyed the full fresh buffet and all the space and peace and quiet that I got at this time. I think everyone should go at least once while it's like this.

The flavors are bold!!! I almost did not go after reading reviews because they were bad, but im glad I went. The food is very good, flavored, and there are enough choices. ???? It was so good. I went twice in 1 week. Definitely will return again and again. P.S. service was also great????!
