Bidrage med feedbackVery friendly and hospitable. As I understood correctly, her speciality is steaks and schnitzel. Schnitzels are perfect (2 large pieces in one part), accompanied by French potatoes, 2 types of salads and SOUP! Absolutely free! The beer was also perfect. The price is moderate, especially compared to restaurants in closest France. It was a good surprise.
This was our first dinner in the key for eight years and it is still an average family-run German restaurant that offers Schnitzel in a variety of styles.
Stopped here for a coffee when in the city stopped here on a river cruise on a Saturday morning. Traditional, efficient and friendly with good food and drinks.
This is the place that the locals go when they want carving, and the ending serves them longer than everyone remembers. The cooks are a father and son team (I think the father is in his 80s) and the food I said is just as good as thirty years ago! In the evening we went there without saying the carvings in any kind of different shapes, were formed to the different tables, mostly formed by the locals. This family-run place is charming and hospitable and worth visiting really traditional German cuisine without experiencing adjustments. Be careful, the portions are huge!
Breisach at Rhein was badly hurt under WW2. Therefore it is nice to visit a traditional German inn with all traditions. The Osner family runs The Schlüssel – hotel and Wirtshaus in the lower old town. We were well treated at arrival and soon we had our Pilsner after having been placed at a nice table. We ordered Schnitzel and Cordon Bleu as we were seeking traditional German food this day. Everything was tasty but not too exiting. The old chef (Osner senior? made his way among the guests to ensure that everybody was happy. It is worth mentioning that we first missed the exact place of The Schlüssel and seated ourselves in a nearby restaurant on the same street. However the waitress there effectively missed us wanting to order, so we left that place (Humpen in anger. The Schlüssel is not like a German Brauhaus , but probably as close to it as one could come in Breisach.
