Bidrage med feedbackI'm not making an excuse for the dramatic title. I was on vacation in Schierke and my partner, and I decided to go to Rodelhaus on the second from last day, as last year I had left a glowing review when I honestly thought they were one of the best restaurants I had been through, although the vegan options were limited. Now I don't know if it's due to the scamdemic of coronavirus or lack of direction, but I can't believe what was transpire. As usual, my partner and I ordered the soup that was absolutely delicious as always and the bread bottle and that is where the good news ends abruptly. We both thought that they could have changed the recipe as it really tasted something like sour wort (very acidic aftertaste, it was not too bad, but nowhere as beautiful as we had in the past. I admit that the bread doesn't even taste fresh. I came right to the point, right after dinner I noticed that I felt queasy and that is where it started. Within a few minutes my stomach was really churning and I had to make a stroke to the toilet to be physically ill. After returning, this is when my partner mentioned that she felt uncomfortable and had to do the same. In fact, I personally do not break less than five times. When my partner went to the toilet, I spoke to the manager who, in my opinion, was the most vulnerable I've ever met. The manager just stood there and stared at me like a deer in the proverbial headlights and asked how she can do it right, well, err, you are the manager, you have the answer immediately, instead of the manager started me about the curry and herbs she put in the soup, although I had already reported that it was the bread dish that was out (what would curry and herbs make someone who was sick). At some point the boss was called, I saw her talking, she looked in my direction, shrug her shoulders and went back to the kitchen. No excuse was issued from the chef; these actions transpired while both my partner and I went to the toilets to be sick again and again and I was too abusive to move, we were given free water, but NOT ONCE came the cook or the manager and asked us how our well-being lasted this time. A partial and mere refund was issued and a doctor's offer was made, but ONLY after a considerable time, we had a dog with us and the last ski lift back to the hill was to leave in less than ten minutes. It would have taken hours to call a doctor. So we couldn't wait and had to go, it was only now when a doctor's incantation was offered! Later the evening suffered diarrhea and the next day I was too weak to enjoy the last day of our holiday. This was on a Friday, but on the following Sunday I was again physically ill after hardly sleep. Toboggan house ruined our vacation, caused us heavy food poisoning and the cook was not even interested! It is in my theory that the bread bottle was not fresh and after it had been left too long with a kick of Vegan Cream Fraiche (a catastrophe is waiting to happen, the taste was on the vegetables that refined, we should never have eaten it. Casual and dangerous practices lead to sick customers, this obviously escaped the minds of the manager AND THE CHEF, who acted above all as if they did not give a damn. While the manager was very apologetic at the end, the cook was a complete different story. I'll never eat here again!
Wow, just wow! I was here twice on holiday and it was my partner who discovered it. After we had a lift halfway on the hill in a cable car we stopped at the toboggan house when they applied, they had vegan options and although the options were a little limited what we got? It was amazing. A baked bread base with almond maus with various vegetables and a slightly spicy soup that was absolutely divine. From the first taste of both the bread bowl and the soup, my palate threw me back into a childhood restaurant that I visited in Cornwall, UK, but that was simply the best food I had ever tasted in a long, long time, toboggan house Braunlage is a local jewel. The staff was always incredibly friendly and enthusiastic as well as attentive and responsive. The view over the Wernigerode hills from our table was amazing with a beautiful internal wood decoration, old artefacts decorate the walls and photos with stories, as the venue came, that they are completely enough by supporting all local producers, as all articles have grown locally, in fact these guys are a step away from real anarchism in the best possible way. If there is of course a room to improve, then please add more vegan options, a vegan starter, main course and a desert would be perfect. The experience on these two occasions that my partner and I were magical. The food was just raised and we'll be back. I recommend this restaurant!
I was completely surprised by this place. Since it was close to the ski slopes and had a lot of traffic from hikers, I expected mediocre food and harried waiter. But the whole staff was very friendly and patient. They even left me with only one drink for the long time it took for my company to accompany me without rushing me, even though people were waiting for seats at the entrance. Then we had a really great vegetable soup, with many Al Dente Veggies, coconut milk and curry in a mini-cooker all served again quickly and with a smile. All other foods around us also looked delicious and people ate it with pleasure. In addition, we got reasonable prices and a beautiful view. You can't go wrong here.
We went there for lunch before we started the sleigh ride down to the city. Fine lunch in a very busy place. But the service was good, and there was no long wait for neither drinks nor food.
When we were there, there were still construction work, but they did not bother, the kitchen delivered good home cooking, there are also vegan dishes. service flott and friendly.
