Keller Steak House - Braşov

A restaurant with good food and good taste! thanks to ramona, who is always very friendly and attentive! I recommend this restaurant.

We didn't know it was a steak house and even though they treated us wonderfully! the gastfreundschaft is impeccable, ramona did everything she could to satisfy our allergies and diet, amazing service. definitiw a recommended place in the old town of brasow.

I arrived late in Brasov on a rainy evening. By the time I got settled at the hotel and went out very few places were open. I enjoyed a very good Hungarian Goulash here, nice and peppery along with a very good Romanian wine. The service was very good here I also enjoyed the company of Joanna, a business lady who was also dining alone. We got chatting across the tables and ended up enjoying our meals together. Keller Steak House is a posh little restaurant in the pedestrian only street just off the main square, walking in the direction of the "Brasov" sign on the mountain.

I'm spoiled perhaps but cannot help but compare the Chateaubrienn with Béarnaise for 2 with the same dish we enjoyed at El Gaucho in Portland Oregon very recently. Although done to perfection the Keller version was very chewy and had much less flavor. Ditto for the sauce. I can recommend neither.However, the goulash is very good as are the sautéed mushrooms. Not so for the mixed vegetable sauté of primarily green peppers and zucchini, skip that one. Service was impeccable.

It is situated 100 metres away from "Piata Sfatului" (Council Market) the main square downtown Brasov in an historical building with cavernous interior. We had dinner upstairs on a long table facing the entrance.Food on average. We went for mixed appetizers and then I ordered lamb chops with potatoes ... I love lamb but unfortunately I got a totally burned dish ... both meat and potatoes ... I guess the chef should pay much more attention while cooking !
