Bidrage med feedbackLast night on Thursday, the 14th juli, for diner. I was mainly shocked with the hostess friend. not even a simple hallo or hi or welcome! no basicity in the hospitality. eating was nothing but disgusting. everything was cold, and even the bravage was served with a plough of plastic in it. seriously, they should just be closed. the restaurant it itself was empty next to a guy on the bar and two people on a table inside. in seriousness, this is the smallest thing I think that a restaurant can present itself. I'll give you 100 to 10 so bad.
Was in the mood for fajitas and lone star hit the mark. the order on the line was a bit of a challenge, as we could not find their regular menu, just the specials. So we called instead. service was pleasant and efficient. remove them containers with severing. well suited for this type of meal. were generous and tasteful. many delicate chicken slices. we would go back.
What a total waste of money. I would not recommend this place for any food, steak was full of fat, ordered a creamy koleslaw and it came back oil based. I never ate it, but was still charged for it. the swirling rings suck and...Fries are just store bought frozen pommes, also the brokkoli came mostly white, which means it in cooler for quite sometime. at all costs they avoid this landfill.
We had a birthday party for our daughter with some family guests at Lone Star in Brampton. We placed a large takeout order. When we picked up the order, we realized that some items were missing. The restaurant apologized and offered to either replace the missing items or provide a gift certificate. We had to improvise with replacement toppings as the original ones were not included in the order. This experience made us reconsider ordering takeout from this restaurant in the future. We had dined in before and it was okay, but this takeout order was disappointing.
I don’t usually review chain restaurants because it’s about as useful as reviewing fast food chains but Lone Star hit such terrible lows on all accounts I think it needs to be exposed. My friends Peter Melissa and their boyz invited me out for...lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Brampton and their choice was the Lone Star. After slowly weaving our way through the congested outdoor mall parking lot we pulled up to Lone Star’s parking and it was ample but empty. Not a good sign. Inside the space was just as ample and just as empty as outside. Melissa asked the greeter for a booth in the bar area and was told any more than 4 people in a booth is a fire hazard so we must sit in the dining area.(we were 3 adults/2 kids) Ummm…yeah…pretty sure that’s not a thing. We get seated in a booth (I guess burning down the dining area is OK) and wait. The place is dead with one table occupied behind us and our waitress comes and we ask for water for everyone. She leaves and we wait. And wait…and wait. After almost 20 minutes she arrives with our water. Here’s the thing…there are TWO waiters on duty and there are TWO tables occupied. Our waitress only has us to serve yet she takes 20 minutes to bring water. We order drinks and some chips and queso and once again our waitress disappears to parts unknown. Our table has no cutlery/napkins and it will stay barren for the rest of our time here. Another 20 minutes goes by and finally our waitress strolls by with our drinks. “You really made the bartender work” she says. Huh? We ordered a Margarita…a glass of white wine…a root beer and a Shirley Temple…THAT’s a workload? My Margarita not only comes in a martini glass but it’s supposed to be 2oz of tequila and if there’s one ounce in it then I’m Santa Claus. (and I’m not) Melissa’s white wine is a dark shade of red…I guess the “overworked” bartender didn’t spend those 20 minutes “preparing” our drinks wisely so we tell our waitress we ordered white wine so she takes it back to replace. And we wait…and wait…and wait. To calm our rumbling stomachs we dig into the queso…a ¼” of brown, runny liquid that tastes as bad as it looks. After 10 minutes the correct glass of wine arrives but we’ve already made the decision there’s no way we are staying and ordering food. An hour has passed and we have water…drinks and no cutlery. We ask the waitress to get the manager please and 5 minutes later (what exactly is everyone in this place doing that it takes forever for service?? she comes by. We explain everything that happened and she apologizes…which is the right thing to do…and she comps our drinks and queso…which is also the right thing to do. But here’s the thing. The manager is responsible for the servers/bartender/kitchen. She must know this place is a ghost town so why isn’t she walking around…checking the service…checking the patrons etc? Our waitress obviously didn’t give a damn about service but the manager should see that and do something about it…not wait for customers to have a bad experience. We left and walked over to Jack Astor’s…had good food…good drinks…and a fun afternoon together. First time at Lone Star…never again.
