The House By Hilly Gant - Braintree

Went here a few months ago for a graduation dinner, had heard amazing things about the previous owners and name so hoped highly they'd kept these traditions going, however the food was incredibly expensive considering the over-seasoned taste in all the meals. Food not as hot as would be expected, far too much cheese on a fish dish? To boot it was incredibly loud with too many tables in one room. I don't doubt this could have improved the last few months however please choose wisely when choosing to part with a significant portion of cash.

Really enjoyed myself at this restaurant and loved the food. I had the mushroom starter, the pork to main and the crème brûlée for dessert and couldn’t fault any of it! Service was great, our waiter had a sense of humour and at last minute switched out table to outside without any complaints etc. will visit again.

A pleasant dining experience with regard to the venue and menu options, slightly pricey but overall offers good value.

Had a wonderful lunch to help celebrate someone's birthday. Nothing was a problem, service and food was amazing.

Have meant to go there for a long time (since before the name change! — was not disappointed. Creative and beautifully balanced food, wanted to eat everything on the menu.
