Bidrage med feedbackWe visited this restaurant for the carvery. It was very busy because they had a 50% off deal for Black Friday. Some of the staff appeared stressed and tired, but all of them were nice and polite. We were seated in Martin's section. He was a standout! He provided great conversation and was also funny. He is a valuable asset to your establishment. We will bypass the other two Toby Carveries to come back to your restaurant for his excellent service. The food was delicious. Thank you.
I made a reservation for breakfast at 10:30, but upon arrival, I was informed that they had run out of eggs. I suggested going to the Tesco across the road to get some, but they couldn't accommodate that. We were asked if we still wanted to eat, so we decided to stay since there weren't many other options at that time. The tomatoes were chopped instead of whole, and they only had white bread for toast with no brown available. The toaster either undercooked the bread or burnt it if you put it in twice. It wasn't a great experience, especially since we were there to celebrate a friend's birthday.
This restaurant is definitely worth a visit and I will be returning. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is family friendly. Overall, a great place to dine.
The carpets are thread bare and held together with tape, the walls and woodwork are filthy (no excuse for that) and the odour was not pleasant. Turkey was fine, as were the roast potatoes. The peas were like bullets, the cabbage was so dried up and the cauliflower soggy. All the veg was tasteless. Had been sent a voucher to entice us in, it was just about worth the one free meal. The positives were: the greeter, the young lad carving who was chatty and friendly and the waitress who served us, I didn't catch her name but she was an Irish lady quite short. She made the experience a bit nicer.
We were expecting a newly refurbished restaurant but in fact it's still the same old, tired place. The food was probably the worst I've ever had at a Toby carvery. There was barely any turkey meat left to carve and what I received was chewy and tasteless. Instead of onions in gravy there were tasteless dumplings, the peas were hard and the cabbage looked as if it had been there for days, it was so dried out. The only redeeming item was the roast potatoes. No more visits there for us, we'll go to Poole next time.
