Bidrage med feedbackWe had a reservation for 7 people. The food took 30m, as soon as they brought the food the brought the check. Keith wasn't only rude taking the order, he didn't even brought water refills untill we asked. Brought us a coffee without saucer in their hand. Desert plates had water in it. Keith was very upset bcs the restaurant closes at 2pm. When I made the reservation and called the restaurant, no one said we had 30m to eat. Had the worse experience, bringing guess from out of town, food was not fresh, potatoes were soggy, my trout was good. 30 years in Boulder, Iwill not come back.
They had a new menu when we came in so the server wasn’t as familiar with it. The fish we got Included oysters, seared tuna, salad, and ceviche were all incredibly fresh and delicious. The wine selection is good. The service was excellent.
Boulder. We stayed at the hotel so this place made for a convenient breakfast. I got the house smoked salmon with poached eggs maybe because I confused it with Norwegian smoked salmon that I found it overcooked. The poached eggs were perfect though along with the herbed goat cheese. I also wish they had freshly squeezed orange juice. Hubby though enjoyed his prime rib poached eggs with Irish coffee.
We have always loved Spruce because they have great food and are attentive to dietary restrictions (in our case due to medical issues) without compromising food quality. The service is delightful and the setting in the Hotel Boulderado is perfect.
Even early on a Friday night, this restaurant was packed and very noisy. The service was satisfactory, but it took a long while between the appetizers and entrees (but not the dessert). My companions loved their choices: clams in butter and garlic, and tuna tartare/bison and bacon meatloaf. My seared tuna salad was nice, but a bit disappointing in that there were only a few tiny cubes of mango. Also, the cumin/coriander seasoning on the tuna was unusual, and not as pleasing as Asian spices might've been. The apple streusel was delicious and we had a delicious bottle of wine (Faust). This is a lovely restaurant if you don't have hearing issues and don't expect extraordinary dishes. To my knowledge, only Frasca delivers on that score.
