Bidrage med feedbackThis cafe, located nearby, offers high quality and unique dishes. Their Japanese Pancakes and Dutch Baby are highly recommended as they are expertly crafted and delicious. The Japanese Pancakes have a soft texture and subtle flavor, perfectly complemented by the syrup. The Dutch Baby has a crispy crust with juicy blueberries in the middle, topped with jam and cream for a delightful combination. The addition of scrambled eggs and coleslaw salad completes the meal, with the corn and red cabbage flavors standing out. The service is quick, even with takeaway orders, making it a great dining experience for both the food and conversations.
I am very pleased with this restaurant overall. I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5. I stopped in on my way to work and found the staff to be very nice. The coffee and food were both excellent. The new take on eggs benedict was exceptional, with perfectly cooked eggs.
The menu offers a good variety of tasty options, both in terms of food and coffee. While there isn't anything particularly exceptional that would make it a must-visit brunch spot, the focus seems to be on providing friendly service and delicious food to keep customers coming back. The staff are incredibly kind and patient, making the overall experience enjoyable. Although I missed the opportunity to take photos on both visits, I would recommend giving Travelling Bandit a try if you find yourself in the area. The pleasant atmosphere and excellent service make it a worthwhile stop for a meal or coffee.
This area of North Balwyn, it’s Greythorn really, strikes me as needing a bit of a lift, foodwise at least. Travelling Bandit looked like comfortably the best cafe option on a scan of both sides of this shopping strip (although I later spotted the Jolly Miller which is in a more secluded area off the road). The cafe has street appeal then and its moderately attractive inside too and almost cute. It also has very nice front and back open areas. Most importantly, the coffee is very good here. They serve a perfectly respectable brew that would be easily at home in any of the more fancied areas. The menu is said to be good too, I understand. The cafe was doing an acceptably good trade among all age groups while I was there. The staff dealt with the custom politely and efficiently. There was a hits mix on that was mainly 80s. It was inoffensive and quite pleasant after a while. <br/ <br/ Nice place overall. A terrific option if you’re in this area. I’d happily return another time.
Lovely little local cafe with excellent service, friendly staff, lovely decor and an absolutely stunning presentation of food. The pana cotta had a great blend of flavours with a hint of coconut and a crispy muesli. The Japanese souffle was beautifully laid out and the souffle was soft and light. An absolutely wonderful experience!
