Arcadia Restaurant - Booval

I've had several meals at Arcadia over the last couple of years and I'm never disappointmentModern Greek crusine.

I stumbled upon this place just near the Quest apartments while walking into the centre of Ipswich to find dinner.When I explained I have an intolerance to onion and garlic (low-FODMAP diet) the chef and friendly server happily made suggestions of the best menu options to adapt.I chose the grilled swordfish skewers, with a modified Greek salad instead of the normal accompaniments.The serving of swordfish was very generous, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The salad was quite small, but very fresh and satisfying with high quality ingredients. If I'd been hungrier I would have ordered some potatoes from the sides menu too.

We were staying just along the street at the Quest Apartments so a very short walk. We booked a table for dinner for 4.On arrival, the noise level in the restaurant was so high in the spotless, timber floor and high ceiling room, we could hardly hear each other across the table and asked if we could sit outside. It was a very cold night but thankfully a couple of gas heaters were moved near us. Waitress very obliging and apologetic, recognised how noisy it was inside. Shared entrees were generous serve of calamari, and each of us had enjoyable mains, again, generous serve. Cheap compared to Sydney for similar meal and pleasant, if a little bare decor. Perhaps seagrass matting on the polished floor or wall hangings could help noise reduction. If noise level can be addressed, it's worth a visit. Or just book outside table if a warm night. Enjoyable.

The menu options are very decent and the food was delicious-especially the haloumi! The price is a bit expensive and can put you off a little but the quality is very decent.

The food was beautiful, service was good, environment was friendly. Good variety of food. we are fairly basic eaters & we enjoyed every dish we ordered. didn't rate the mas-aka though. Service was pleasant & prompt. Parking was easy. Been here a few times never fails.
