Shotgun Espresso - Booroobin

A lovely cafe to sit down in and enjoy some lovely food. We enjoyed the atmosphere inside the cafe. The look and feel of the place. Good selection of food off the menu and at the counter on display. Friendly staff. We tried their Rueben toasted which had corned beef, sauerkraut and pickle. Was yummo. Also ordered 2 lattes. It was the coffee that let it down for us. Just not up to standard, tasted burnt and bitter. We love our coffee! Wish Google had the 4.5 rating as would have given them this. Prompt service even though busy. Overall we would definitely go back for the food, and probably have a mocha instead.

I typically don't write reviews, but I had a meal today that completely exceeded my expectations. I am giving Shotgun a well-deserved 5-star rating. Thank you for an incredible breakfast experience that will be hard to top. You have earned another 5 stars in my book!

Super vibey. I ordered the rhubarb french toast and my partner ordered the mushroom bruschetta. Very tasty and good portions. Coffee was great. The menu and interior design is super interesting, it seems to have some Asian inspiration. I always love a cafe with good character.

In summary, the restaurant had an interesting and delicious menu, but the coffee was not great. I visited for lunch on a busy Father's Day weekend and had to wait in a long queue for both food and coffee. Despite the wait, the menu was more unique compared to other cafes in the area. The chicken broth was particularly satisfying on a cool day, although the warning for spice may be too much for some. Unfortunately, the coffee was not up to par as it was burnt and over extracted. However, there were no issues with the management or staff. Overall, I would consider returning for the food, but not for the coffee.
