Panificio Franziskaner – Via Dei Francescani

Very nice bakery and with smile friendly lady. Good taste for us. The shop can accept credit card which is quite convenient for tourists. Good price and good bread recommended to all.

I stopped by a shop in Place Erbe, and even though I only bought two small pieces of bread, the lady who helped me was very nice, and I also bought a bag of cookies before heading home. The two breads I bought at a delicatessen in Verona and Padua and the one I had at the hotel were delicious, but I was surprised at how delicious the cookies were! I bought a lot of cookies on this trip, but these were by far the best.

All their pastries are fantastic but the Apple Strudel was simply the best we have ever had in either Germany/ Austria or northern Italy not available in the south or central). These will be SOLD out if arriving later than noon or 1 pm- do Not be disappointed. The breads looked wonderful but we mainly came for pastries this is where the locals buy.This is stated to be the oldest bakery in Bolzano is situated adjascent to the active Franciscan Monastary in the Aldstadt. Best to explore Bozano by bicycle this is simply an excellent destination to have a wonderful treat to top off the bike ride.

Consigliatissimo. Da provare il carpaccio di cervo e i tortelli fatti in casa. Prezzo giusto!
