Il Principe - BOLOGNA

Restaurant has a nice interior and terrace. It is aiming for upscale dining. But the pasta with swordfish and broccoli was just disgusting. For €13 pasta dish you expect fresh fish and good portion size. This was microwave food and not how swordfish is ment to be served. Worst food we have had in Bologna and surroundings.

'Il Principe ' is the favorite bar for the doctors and patients of nearby private hospital 'Villa Toniolo ', one of the symbol 's of Bologna medical excellence, and this say something in terms of quality of service and of the food served. It 's nearly always full (and this, in a way, is its weak point), as so many patrons feel that the peculiar offerings in terms of snacks, cold cuts, meat and pasta etc is exactly what they need to have a quick (and good) bite at midday. 'Principe ' also sets up excellent dinners with fish and oysters; and the selection of premium gins, some of them quite rare, make it a good place to enjoy a well-mixed Martini.

Wonderful place for breakfast or a snack, also at night I hear for drinks. Very good value for you money to in my opinion. They have a new location, the old one on via Toscana is under renovation at the moment.

Nice bar next to the Casa di Cura Toniolo. sandwiches, sandwiches and brioches stuffed good, deserves a stop

Bar bistro next to Private Hospital. Very popular for both breakfast and lunch and aperitifs. Great choice for every kind of proposal. Very kind and efficient.
