Bidrage med feedbackReally like this place because of the moving bar. It's perfect for people who are unfamiliar with sushi going for the first time, because they can see the dishes before deciding whether or not to get it. The happy hour is great too with $3 plates and 2 for 1 drinks between 4:30 and 7:00 pm...I think there's a late night happy hour as well, but they don't serve as much food then. Came here a couple times mainly for happy hour. They have a decent assortment of alcohol. Happy hour plates don't have the most variety, but you can always order from the regular menu if you want something specific. I'm a huge fan of sashimi, but I notice that during happy hour, I haven't seen much white fish go out...mostly just salmon and tuna. Not much eel on the rotating boats either. The bang bang shrimp was really good. Next time I want to try the chicken skewers and some tempura.
5 stars for the Happy Hour menu! the crispy rice tuna= 2 thumbs up! avocado fries bang bang shrimo were also delicious!
I really love the spinning sushi bar experience. You sit at a sushi bar with many others and have a really interactive experience, if you like. There is a moat of water in front of you with a train of boats attached together spinning around the sushi bar. In each boat is a plate of 3-5 pieces of sushi, sashimi, small plate salads and the like. Each plate is a different color which represents the price of the sushi. For instance a white plate is $3 which is the lowest and yellow is $7 which is the highest. So you watch the plates go by and pick which ones you would like to eat. The sushi is alway fresh and delicious. I have noticed that if a plate sits in the rotation too long, the sushi chef will pick it up and throw it out. That's a great thing to see. BTW you can also order off the menu any time as well during your visit. So you sit and chat at eat and stop and start... and so on. It's so fun! You don't have to wait for your order. You can start right in. My husband and I have a game. We like to stay under $50. Sometimes we will start with a blue plate theme trying to only pick blue plates. Anyway the best part I noticed was that when the sushi no longer looks interesting to me, it's because I'm full. So no leftovers, no over ordering, no overeating. It's the best! So go have all the fun!
I 've been here 6+ times and have read all the reviews before writing mine. I 've left numerous tips and photos, as well. First, lets address SERVICE. I have never experienced it as bad as presented in the really negative reviews. It surely isn 't a 5star service, but not a 1star either. Now, I have ONLY sat at the sushi bar, so there is not much service needed, but when I 've ordered saki or beer or hot food, I 've gotten the attention of my server. As to ambience, well it 's a place that attracts a lot of FAU aged patrons, as well as some more mature folks. I fall into the later category. It 's a place where the music is loud, pulsating, and if you are buzzed before you go in you 'll appreciate the vibe. If you are going for a quiet experience don 't walk in the door. If you like eye candy with your food, whether male or female, you 'll get it. I 'm being direct. As to quality, well I 'm not an expert, but I 've never gotten sick, the sushi tastes good, isn 't chewy. As to the observation of some reviewers about stuff lingering on the passing boats, I 've actually seen the sushi chef dump stuff that apparently has passed it 's prime. If it looks old, don 't take it! So go here if you are not turned off by loud music, some college swag, erratic service, crowded seating, inexpensive sushi, open much later than 90% of the restaurants in East Boca.
The variety of sushi floating around wasn't extensive enough. I understand not wanting to waste food but it would help to ask the patrons sitting at the bar for suggestions, interact with them. The plates do add up so keep a running total of what you grab. The more appetizing plates are the $7 ones. Its best to go after 7 as the happy hour crowd exists and seats at the bar open up. Although happy hour is $3 plates but I can't image getting seats at the bar. There is a special when you check in on Yelp!! Free small saki!!! Ninja Spining changed their name recently. Its in the same location, different name. Parking,, if you get lucky you can park in the tiny lot behind the building. There is street parking and also a paid lot.
