Carbone's Kitchen - Bloomfield

Outstanding meal with a large group here! I had the gnocchi and substituted vodka sauce. It was the perfect size and every bite was incredible. The tiramisu was clearly freshly made, my favorite so I'm picky but this was good! Not pictured is the caprese but get it and you won't regret it, the best balsamic I've had in ages. We were a very large party and she did great with our wine orders and food arrived together. Never been here and this place was a treat!

Carbone's serves what I would consider elevated standard Italian fare. It is an enjoyable setting, and the wait staff are very friendly, attentive, and personable. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I was, however, disappointed with the meal deliveries. We were a very large party, and we were divided into two tables of equal size. We had 2 waitresses taking care of us, though they worked in tandem. We all gave our orders at approximately the same time. And yet, every single dinner at my table came out at least twenty minutes after every single dinner was served at the other table. Some folks at the other table had finished their meal before any of us could start. One thing I did notice is that our waitresses served all of our meals, none of them were delivered by servers/other kitchen staff. That's much less common these days and a definite indication on a focus of customer service. As much as I enjoyed my meal, I was disappointed in the delays to our table. They also don't, as a rule, do separate checks here, though they had no problem taking multiple credit cards with specific dollar amounts towards payment of the meals. If I were in the area again, I'm sure I'd consider dining here again, preferably in a smaller group.

Giving this place three stars only because their happy hour ends at 5pm. C'mon... really? Food is terrific and atmosphere is nice as is the cozy bar area, but don't bother hosting a happy hour if no one is even out of work yet.

Great bar, and everything I've eaten over the years has been spectacular. Friendly service and a great ambience when you walk in the door. And the Tenderloin Tips Lobster Stuffed Cod are off-the-hook delicious!

Great food and awesome happy hour, but you definitely need to get there early gets crowded early.
