Gumba's Family Pizza

Went to visit some friends in Portola over the weekend. It was around lunch time when I arrive so we went searching for food.. its February 10th.. apparently the whole town serving food shuts down for winter vacation in February. So there's really no place to eat.. my friend knows gumbas well and has dined there many times . So off to graeagle we go. The place was very busy but we were seated quickly and the service and the people working there were awesome. I ordered the San Francisco burger with fries. I have to say that was one of the best hamburgers I've ever eaten. And I live in Sacramento where there's Burger joints on every corner.. The fries were also perfect. I go to Portola a few times a year so I will definitely be going back to Goomba's to check out some of their other dishes..

This is my favorite restaurant in town! The food is always amazing and the pizza is absolutely fabulous. The pizza crust is better then most of the 5 Star Italian restaurant in North Beach, In SanFrancisco. The atmosphere is family fun and friendly. The service is by far outstanding, everyone is friendly and happy to be there. The food is served fast and hot. And all the servers talk to and help all the customers. My grandson has an egg allergy and the chef personally made sure all the food was egg free.

I took a party of nine, including three kids, to this lovely family restaurant tucked away in Blairsden on a busy Saturday night. Great pizza and fun atmosphere. We will be back. Every table was filled, but a friendly army of staff kept up with our thirsty, hungry mob. We ordered two pizzas but also sampled buttery noodles, burgers, and the soup, topping the meal off with shared brownie sundaes. Nothing disappointed. Thank you for the great food, friendly service, and happy memories. Added bonuses were the classic arcade games and many flat-screen TVs. We will be back!

The best bacon/pineapple pizza I have eaten and I have eaten them since the 1950’s!

We’ve been here three weeks and eaten there four times. Love the food and the service. Highly recommend.
