Aka Sushi - Blackman Charter Township

I've eaten a lot of sushi from around the country. I had high hopes for this place as a branding looked great and it was a very clean place. However, when the food came it looked very well plated but was lacking any sort of flavor. I ordered two different sushi rolls and they both almost tasted identical because of no flavor. The rice was just barely undercooked for the sushi rolls. I also ordered Ginger salad and it was unlike anything else I've ever had and was very bland and not traditional. If you're not an avid sushi eater, you may not know much of a difference as nothing would tasting bad, just was not up the par with other mediocre to great places. The service was a bit slow but the drink taker was a bit rude. The regular waitress was very nice when I did get to meet her. I give this place a two out of five.

I have eaten a lot of sushi at a lot of different places, and this is the best I've ever had. The fish always tastes so fresh. I love this place!

Ordered takeout from Aka Sushi discovered when getting home that about $20 worth of food from a $70 total order was missing. Called the restaurant the person answering was argumentative because she couldn't find our order and claimed we must not have ordered from them. When she did find it, there was no apology or offer of resolution, she just directed us to raise a complaint on DoorDash (which we were unable to do). Everyone makes mistakes, even though getting what you paid for should be table stakes. They get one star because they were totally indifferent to their mistake and didn't offer to make it right. The food we did get was mediocre at best.
