Mtn. Jax Pub - Blackheath

We were looking for a place with the potential for having a good craft local beer option. We found the right spot. Our waitress noted the beer menu focuses on beers within 100 miles. Solid options and we were able to taste before committing to a brew. We ordered a chicken wrap, with fries, and a bourbon burger, with okra. The wrap was nicely grilled press and fries were fairly good. I enjoyed the burger, but was surprised it didn't come with lettuce and tomato on the side. It was only swiss and a little bit of mushrooms and onions. The atmosphere was odd. It really wanted to be more happening than it was on the Saturday evening we went. The deejay was trying to get the small crowd dining engaged, but it wasn't working so well. Many of us wanted to continue our conversations. The service was great. Our waitress was the owner's daughter. She was pleasant and helpful. The space itself encouraged a more casual and fun vibe. If we were staying, we would have taken up a game or two of pool.

Ate here for the first time. Wanted to try something new. Typical bar food. Wasn't great but wasn't gross. Fries and mushrooms were left in the fryer a little too long. You could also tell they needed to change the oil. Won't be returning

Love, love, love this place. Anthony, Emily and Rick all rocked our world last night. Service is awesome as is the food. Had the pizza which was phenomenal. Husband had the pork chop and was in love.

My family decided to eat at Mtn Jax when we were visiting from out of town. The homemade mac and cheese was yummy. We all got different pizzas and they were all very good. I thought they were personal size when i ordered mine, but they were large enough to share. My favorite thing had to be the rolls. I would go out of my way just to get them again. If you are visiting Martinsville, VA you should eat at Mtn Jacks. They also have a bar and entertainment at night.

We were in town for an Ultimate tournament and stopped by this place for dinner. It was a great sports bar with a lovely craft beer selection. The food was solid and the service was wonderful! Go here!
