Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is amazing. The atmosphere is friendly and the location is lovely. The food in each course of the tasting menu was fantastic, and the drinks that came with it were also great. The service was top-notch and the overall experience was worth the money. I would give this restaurant 5 stars.
I celebrated my birthday with my family at this restaurant and it was a fantastic experience! We enjoyed an absolutely stunning 8-course vegan tasting menu. Each dish was simply divine. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or not, I highly recommend this place. The food is amazing and the staff provides excellent service.
I dined at this restaurant for the second time this year, with another couple, based on our high recommendation from the last visit. Although certain improvements had been made, the restaurant was still quite loud and could benefit from some noise-absorbing elements. We noticed that many of the dishes shared similar flavours, with a dominant salty brown taste throughout. While the textures and concepts were impressive, I found myself craving more freshness in the dishes. My favorite dish was the rice ball, which stood out with its fresher flavors. I still find it inconvenient that a snack must be eaten without cutlery, especially when it is larger than a mouthful and includes wet ingredients. Despite this, the food was delicious. I would still recommend this restaurant and plan to return for a new menu, reasonable prices, and excellent service.
The review immediately below is absolutely spot on. The menu is very unbalanced and doesn't really work. Too much unami and salt and not enough freshness and zing. The best dish for me were the kohlrabi dumplings. The service was also slightly awkward with the waiting staff far to eager to pour our wine to the point where we ended up with an empty bottle after two courses. The wine pouring was also very unequal some of us not having our glasses filled, or being given much more than others. This was my first vegan tasting menu and I really wanted it to be good, but it was average.
Gosh, we had high hopes, but we have to say that we were disappointed. The venue is small and quite cramped being a small retail unit. Service was friendly and knowledgable, but the majority of the food from the 8 course Chef’s menu lacked the freshness, colour and vibrancy that we had expected. Too many of the dishes were overpowered with heavy umami flavours and too much salt. It was hard to get a sense of the fruits or vegetables forming the key elements of the dish. This meant that the attraction of the restaurant was lost. Our standout dishes (which did have freshness and vibrancy) were the deep fried Japanese rice ball with ginger and the beetroot with basil oil. This might be a seasonal issue but, for us, the Chef’s menu simply does not work. We also appreciate that, given the size of the venue, it is important that bookings do turn-up but charging full payment in advance with no cancellation policy, only a right to amend the date, is going a bit too far. We know that the restaurant gets great reviews but we can only give 3 stars.
