Bidrage med feedbackGreat option for breakfast, brunch in Birmingham downtown. Very different from the otherwise standard brunch menus we see. Everything on the menu we have tried has been great. The pancakes are extra special.
I had heard good things and really tried to like this place but our experience was pretty poor. I was hoping that this would be a place that we could go in and get a fast and durring Saturdays when Birmingham is usually slammed at popular spots. it may be a better experience if you go for breakfast or lunch as it looks like those are what this kind of restaurant is probably targeting. We went in the early evening and had a pretty unenthusiastic staff seat us outside in front of a beautiful sunset and take our order. We had to ask a couple times for the beers and drinks that we ordered as we had a bigger party and they did not want to bring or refill our orders. The food was okay but it was deli food and it was not prepared as described in the menu or shown in photographs on the restaurants promotional items. My wife had a reuben that came with corned beef, but no dressing and no sauerkraut. I asked the waitress if there was supposed to be sauerkraut on a reuben and she told me yes . I pointed out the oversight she said they 're probably out or something. No attempt was made to figure out if they actually were out or correct that error. we had a big group and we were prepared to stay at a place that had good beer on draft that did not have a long wait and spend some time there and spend some money but the staff we 're so unenthusiastic that we moved on.
Amazing eating. this is our first time here, and after listening rave reviews about this place, it was certainly not disappointed. all sandwiches are huge and I was told that the side of the brussel sprouts that were ordered were absolutely delicious. we ordered latkas to share the table as an appetizer and they were delicious, plus the bagel chips that were brought to table after sitting were a big hit. we will definitely come back!
On Saturday at 10 o'clock with 4 people. pretty full, but we have a table out easily. service was great. they have a good drip coffee. we had the beauty, a bagel with sucking, some latkes with acidic cream and apple sauce, and a smoked meat hatch with a fried egg. the bagels are really good, even better with salmon/cream cheese/capsules. the cookies were amazing. will definitely come back when in birmingham.
Mile End is a really cool place. From the location to the park and stadium to the interior it is simply cool. The menu is designed to reflect those of a Montreal delicacies dinner. So, of course, it has parentheses like Pastrami and Corned beef. Food and staff were fantastic. I can't wait to go back and get more out of the menu!
