Bidrage med feedbackThe lodge and rooms are beautifully renovated. The lodge is rustic and huge. It is 20 yds out the back to the Explorer chairlift and walking distance to others and base village. The complimentary breakfast buffet in the ginormous dining hall is awesome and has everything from hot trays to cold fruits, fresh juice etc. My only complaints are that there was clomping and creaking noise from the 2nd floor above us and that the queen beds seemed like doubles. More kings would be welcomed for couples. Kudos to the cleaning crew and all staff.
Actually, I think the Hunley Lodge is a wonderful hotel, and recommend that you stay there. I am, however, giving it a one star review because I hope management will read this and correct the following situation. The hot tubs at the hotel do not have any bubble/aeration. A sign says they are temporarily out of order and the hotel is planning to fix them. But I spoke with a number of folks who says that this has been broken for something like 5 years! The hot tubs are an important amenity and it is ridiculous that the hotel does not fix this! They are still usable but this situation should be corrected. And one additional small point, if management reads this: for some reason the beds are made up in such a manner that the comforter does not come up higher than the middle of your chest I had to kick out the comforter where it is tucked in at the bottom. All the other folks in our large group complained about the same thing. But having pointed this out, I really recommend the Huntley a very nice hotel.
The Huntley is nothing fancy so if you are looking for that this is not the place it’s like a lower end Marriott Courtyard. It is basic, no real amazing amenities (not even bottles of water like most ski resorts I go too). They could add small touches like morning coffee station, bottled water, s’mores every night, movie every night when they know people are in, etc. The front desk lady that was there my entire time was helpful but no one at front desk knew if there was room service or not and didn’t make an effort to find out. Bellmen seemed nice but they too could go out of their way to grab luggage when shuttles come in and not just stand and watch. Biggest complaint was the internet dropping all the time and could not even connect to work dropped often! Overall very basic.
Great staff. Moya was very friendly and efficient with answering questions during checking in and out. The concierge desk was very knowledgeable with all the Yellowstone National Park information and how to get there. Breakfast was great. Cons: get higher floor room. We had a room facing the slope but on the 1st floor. Guests with dogs let the dogs peed and take a crap in front of our window while we were eating dinner. So unappetizing! Noisy because kids stampeded on the floor above from 6-10pm. Pro: On the slope. Easy to access all amenities. The concierge team arranged wine and a charcuterie board for my boyfriend’s birthday. Very generous of the staff. Would stay again next April
THE GOOD: Bellmen (Cowboys) were great, maid service was very good, concierge was very helpful, rooms were recently remodeled, roomy and great views, breakfast was fabulous. THE BAD UGLY: Front desk personnel were rude, unknowledgeable, unhelpful and unwilling to extend any type of customer service. They lied about not having any steam vaporizers when we had two in our group (w/breathing issues) that were told beforehand that they had them. The maid found two and was well rewarded. The manager and front desk staff need to be reeducated or changed due to their lack of customer service. I would not recommend this resort.
