Bidrage med feedbackI see people here complaining about this being American junk food, that Americans are horrible fat people who eat fatty fat fat on bread, blah blah blah. Yes, it's American style pizza. If you don't like it, why would you even order from here? For everyone else: this place has a few pluses. It's open fairly late, they deliver (I pick up since I live close), they sell beer, they have a 2 for 1 special on Tuesdays, and you can get REALLY good deals if you order online. The staff here are also nice, though they do seem a bit overworked. At other places in Zurich I've paid 25 CHF for pizza with raw chicken on it, and the waitstaff could not care less. Typical Swiss. Anyway, at least here I can get something that is consistent and cheap.. sometimes even with a little extra dessert thrown in, and a smile (rare for Zurich).
We ordered 3 Pizzas on a Sunday at 18:08 (6:08pm). I called the Pizza place at University where we ordered online after waiting 1h. They told me that the Pizza was already on its way. To make a long story short: after at least 4 more phone calls, many exuses by the representative (system problems, rain, etc.) and 2 hours waiting the Pizza was not deliverd yet. We have ordered from Domino's many times and the Pizza is not of very high quality but I do accept that for delivery services (otherwise I go to a Pizzeria).I placed a complaint online before the Pizza was delivered. So the next day I received an e-mail that they will reimburse my credit card, although I informed them that in the end I did receive the Pizza after 2h15min. So at least their customer service is working ok.
I bought two pizzas with chicken, onions, olives,Paprika topping the price was higher than rest of europe but the taste and quality of pizza was worst. Base was not fine, taste was more soure because of badly applied tomato souse and little cheese, bite was too watery. i would prefer and suggest to have some hand made pizza from some local Italian Pizzeria instead of paying too much for ****.
Simply put, because of the big question: is another franchise of an American fast-food chain really what Zurich needs? In a city overrun both with US junk food outlets and pizza restaurants, the recent opening of Domino's at Goldbrunnenplatz recently hit the "20 Minutes" headlines for their opening action "the first 1000 pizzas free on opening day". As it's a 5-minute bus ride from home, I thought I'd give their takeout a go. I should've been warned by the incompetent phone ordering service: had to repeat my order 4 times as the girl kept deleting her entries in what can only be a massively complicated pizza-ordering computer system. Pizza was awful: greasy, fatty, tasteless and just simply junk food. To be expected, but the question is why? Do Zurchers really want more empty calories in their plate? Honestly, I wouldn't eat this food even if it was free. Paying CHF 45.- for a 2-small pizza "deal" is just rude. It's just so sad that City-Video was replaced with yet another American fast-food chain serving overpriced bread and fat. Want good pizza for your money? Go to Don Leone. Want cheap fat fast food? Step across the street to the currywurst place. Domino's remains what it always has been - a terrible excuse for "food".
