Food was nice but far too expensive. Tip was over £40 plus a cover charge of nearly £9 Too expensive for us. Won’t be returning. On the plus side atmosphere was good and staff were very nice.

Way over rated, food undercooked and exorbitant prices. From reading some of the past reviews, the owners of this place certainly pay no attention to customers comments and from the wording of the 5* review in Feb 2024, it was obviously compiled by a member of staff. We arrived for our 8pm table and within seconds of taking our seats we were asked what we wanted to drink despite having been offered a drinks menu. Wine was ordered along with 2 Perroni's. The beer came in 2 small glasses and was only half full of beer, the rest was froth. I feel certain they use a large bottle and divide it across 2 bottles. Then a small selection of Olives and bread were placed on the table without being ordered and we were unaware these would be added to our final bill. Its equated to £1.80 per half slice of bread. Food was ordered, on arrival we found each meal was overcooked, dry and bland. And so the evening went on. £10.50 for an Irish coffee, disgusting. 2 Jameson whiskies, each having a thimble full of whisky, disgusting. It is obviously a place where diners both arrive and eat early as by 9.20pm the place was almost empty so much so, some of the waiters were standing around dressed ready to go home constantly looking across at our table and making us feel extremely uncomfortable. The Bill arrived, £300.00 for 4 mains, 4 deserts, 1 bottle of wine, 4 very small beers, 2 Irish coffee's and 2 extremely small whisky's, plus a Service Charge plucked out of thin air. I fully appreciate that some will say, we should have challenged the bill, but honestly the evening had been ruined and we simply wanted to get out. This place may have had a good reputation once upon a time, but what we experienced was terrible across the board and shall never be returning.

Way to expensive and gone way down hill also will not be returning how this place gets away with it its beyond me hope it turns around shame

We have dined here before, but that was prior to my wife’s stroke and then it was very good but on this visit from the moment we approached the door the service was exceptional, they looked after my wife while I parked the car. The service at the table was first class cutting up her food for her and done in such a way that it appeared to be the natural thing to do. The food was excellent as it always has been. Yes, it can be considered expensive, but for the quality of the food and the service that goes the extra mile and some more it is worth it. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back.
