The napkins and glasses were smelly. They passed off a chardonnay for a reisling and I guess hoped I wouldn't notice. The food was good but not remarkable. The tuna cones are popular but I'm not into uncooked meat. The lobster pizza was good and different. The chicken had a nice crisp skin. Nice to say we've dined there. We haven’t been to Spago in years and I was pleasantly surprised that after all this time it is still stellar! They happened to be under renovations when we went but they did an amazing job of hiding it. It in no way detracted from the evening. The bar was small because of the construction but that made it cozy and wonderful. The bartenders were awesome, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We were a party of 5 plus a baby so my man and I had a cocktail at the bar before everyone else arrived. They had a high chair for us and were very accommodating. The food was incredible! We had the duck, the risotto for the baby, pasta (made in house , salmon pizza (omg , tuna cones (wow! , steak and veal. We were celebrating 3 birthdays and they went overboard with the desserts ! The vanilla soufflé was literally to die for and they even had my absolute fave ice cream mint chocolate chip! The highlight of the evening was when Wolfgang Puck himself stopped by the table! What a nice, sweet, friendly, unassuming man! Amazing evening !
