Bidrage med feedbackI have been going to chesa salis for years to dinner and I have always loved this place. the restaurant was very good in the past, the atmosphere was always very special. presumably one of the best restaurants in engadin thanks to the hospitality and style of former owners manager (sibylla and jurg degiacomi). Unfortunately, they decided to leave bever and this place is no longer the same. I just went to eat again recently. what a disappointment! When I came to the hotel, I felt that this place has changed. eating is now average and the service cold and unprofessional (mr. degiacomi has led the show in restaurant with style, efficiency and smiles). I recommended this place about the years many friends. no more! unfortunately I had to delete the restaurant in chesa salis from my address book.
We (family of four, kids and recently had one of our nicest meals in Switzerland at Chesa Salis. The setting is beautiful in a historic hotel, next to a lovely garden and the food and service are excellent. This is a special...place, worthy of special occasions. The menu is not inexpensive, but it is worth it. My husband had beef tartar and lamb, and I had a chick pea salad and trout. The kids ordered chicken and veal from the kids menu, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Dessert was also excellent (either chocolate cake or a type of battered ice cream).
This was our first visit to chesa salis and we were very impressed overall. tasty eating, perfect amount of choices between dressing including a rich selection of vegetarian tellers, excellent wine to very fair trips and friendly service. easily disappointing that the brain meat comes from the New Zealand rather than from the region and that we (in contrast to other tables) don't get cookies with the coffee.
This restaurant came highly recommended and I went with great expectations and was terribly disappointed. the management has recently changed the hands. our evening began with stale brot. our bread basket was fresh. I guess they had to get rid of the day bread first....The selection of wein through the glass was limited, which would not be important if it was good, but it was moderate. eating was inspiring and ill conceived. what should be served at room temperature was cold. what should be served hot was at room temperature. even the dessert (creme brûlée) was strange, it had stuffed on it, and it just didn't work. then to it from the espresso was lukewarm. the server was a very nice man who tried to serve even tables! it was annoying to watch, I can't imagine how he felt.
We thought for a very comfortable afternoon break in the lounge. tee and cake are served begging and with very friendly service. hotel has an amazing garden and would like to come back in summer!
