The Ship Inn - Berwick-Upon-Tweed

This is a beautiful pub with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The beer garden to the rear is a little sun trap in the afternoon. We ate our evening meal there on Saturday 11th June. I had the crispy whitebait to start and my partner had the fish goujons both were plentiful and cooked to perfection. For main I had the seafood stew my partner the teryaki salmon. Again both cooked beautiful and plentiful. My stew was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately to full to sample the sweet menu. Paul and the team made us feel at home and were genuine in their kindness. This place is a gem and would highly recommend it.

We went primarily for food and drinks, and I must say, the dining experience was quite pleasant. The chips were excellent, and while my chicken burger was a bit on the dry side, the delightful coleslaw compensated for it. The younger waiter with the colorful arm tattoo was a true delight—super friendly and very approachable. The decor in the pub area is lovely, though the restrooms could benefit from a bit of decor and attention. Overall, we were very satisfied and would definitely recommend it!

We boarded the ship yesterday, and the majority of our group ordered the fish and chips. The portions were excellent and the quality was outstanding. I opted for the crab sandwich, which was the most delightful dish I had all week—I’d definitely return just for that. The service was exceptional, and the staff were all lovely. The place was bustling with patrons, and it's not surprising given that it's a charming pub with a lot of character and great food.

What a lovely pub restaurant! It's beautifully decorated and impeccably clean, with charming and professional service. The food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I only wish we hadn't been in a hurry, but we definitely plan to visit again.
