Brasserie Bärengraben - Bern

Of 27 august we had lunch on the occasion of the birthday of my wife. the personal is so welcoming and organizes a perfect lunch. the menu card has a set of options. we both went for the steaktar who was of excellent quality and taste. well done chef! our other table partners had beautiful rösti with calves or leber slices. the recommended for red wine could not have been better since we had to continue our bike tour. the seating was nice, cozy and with beautiful fresh flowers. from the first minute to the last they feel well maintained. my wife was treated with a surprise birthday cake. we'll be back when we're in trouble. thank you again! luc nicole

A friend of mine loves this restaurant and invited me. Although we didn't have a reservation, a table was found. We ordered the plat du jour but replaced the soup with a salad which cost extra. The salad did not distinguish itself from any other...salad one gets in a normal Swiss restaurant. The main dish was a very tasty chicken corn fed and thin pasta. All in all it was ok, but nothing extraordinary. But what was unusual was the unfriendly service. Ninety five of all Swiss restaurants have very friendly and accommodating service personal. So this was rather disappointing to an otherwise pleasant but not spectacular lunch.

The oldest waiter is unreliable. I went last Friday with my mother, we are Spanish, we don't speak French my mother understands a few words, but she doesn't speak, but this old man still spoke French. he asked us in French, whether we wanted an apéritif, my mother didn't answer because she didn't understand him and he made us ridiculous in front of the customers 2 3 who started laughing. once he was funny and made clear where we were, then he spoke with us in English. By the way, I don't know what kind of poisson I've eaten in a white liquid sauce.

We, where they want. nice garden. menu with many interesting, traditional items. the liver and game dishes, where perfect and delicate ecellent place.

We, a party of 5, had a wonderful lunch in this charming restaurant. the service was excellent and very friendly. the courts were all very good. we're coming back.
