Bidrage med feedbackThe place and the atmosphere were great. The menu and the food was also very good. However we waited almost 45 minutes to get our order...too long. And, although the food was delicious, we thought it was a bit expensive. The previous day we had had breakfast in a place close by, we ate way too more, the food was better and we paid the same...
Love it, love it, love it! Interesting re-interpretation of a diner through a P-Berg Berlin aesthetic. Best burgers in Berlin. I order off the menu almost every time I am here. Two patty cheese burger with no bun. side of fries and then I load it up with ketchup and Tabasco. Tasty. I hope they'll name the variation after me. The French toast is tasty my wife and daughter say. The bacon is crispy and free refills for coffee. The **** Marys are good and the tables are covered in informative placemats. I can review my presidents and state flags, flora and fauna. Sometimes the pace is a little slow, but you can't rush quality. Good tunes they play. And prices are decent. We have been here again and again and again...
I've been here twice, and here's my take. If you're coming here as an American tourist, you probably won't find anything super special about Nalu. If you're an American who's been living in Berlin for more than a couple months, you'll probably like it since you're no doubt missing real American breakfasts. It is the closest thing you'll get in Berlin to an American style breakfast, but there's still a bit to be desired. The atmosphere is not diner-like at all, and it's either typical Berlin restaurant service or one notch above depending on which waiter you get. We felt like we were rushed while ordering. The food is pretty good. I've had the benedict and the pancake platter with hash browns. No qualms with the coffee, either (but then again, it's not American style coffee). The 5 euro milkshake, however, was absolutely terrible. Avoid this at all costs. I feel like Americans will come in here, see the word milkshake and think they're getting the creamy, delicious, authentic thing. Do not be fooled, especially with the mocha one (worst aftertaste from the syrup).
Like the others have said already: Flohmarkt decor of Amercana kitch (tat), a long wait for food and tourist prices. The food itself is fine but I would stick with a typical German brunch which has more choice and flair.
Americana to the max. It's a bit gimmicky but you go there knowing that's the schtick. Loved the nostalgic interior especially the wall of retro baseball cards. The food is a little expensive for Berlin, but it delivers what the menus promises (American diner food). Presentation is not pretty - a bit more effort to make plates look nicer with garnishes or condiments would elevate the food. We drank a quality chocolate milkshake and a decent but not grate **** Mary (those are generally poor in Berlin though). My impression was that the kitchen can get overwhelmed during busy periods and food can take a long time to come out. For us it took close to 30 mins. Noticed a new vegan menu available for those inclined.
