Brasserie Colette Tim Raue - Berlin

I went for lunch and took the menu, best choice ever, food was awesome, and we was able to try a little of everything. A big plus to the desert that was surprisingly good.

Effusive welcome, water supplied, wine and food starter of sardines weirdly offered as a choice of 7 tins! ordered. 25 mins passed, no sign of the wine and starters arrived which we declined preferring to enjoy a glass of wine first. Bit of a flurry and the wine was brought. Then it was a 20 min wait for the starters to be brought back. Sardines arrived still in the tin but opened with one measly slice of brioche toast. Prawns had been over cooked. Waded through this delight ! and the mains arrived. Obviously the kitchen had left them waiting on the pass. Chicken overcooked and tough and the deep fried courgette flowers of the vegetarian dish were cold and soggy as was the pesto and tomato mess which consituted the rest of the dish. Inedible. No apology offered. Paid and left. By a very long way the worst restaurant experience we had in our 3 day stay in Berlin. Would advise giving Tim Raus and his restaurant a miss. The restaurant simply posted a standard response to our review on Open Table clearly indicating a complete lack of interest in what we had to say. Hence its repeated here for a wider audience to see.

We went for lunch and loved most of the food. What I found inexplicable was the insistence on bringing the main course at the same time as the starters. By the time we had finished the delicious plate of starters, the beef bourguignon was only about 5C above room temperature. It was still nice, but I wish customers would be allowed to decide whether the starters and main course should be brought at the same time. I asked, but apparently, it wasn't possible.I think I will come back, but I do hope the chef will listen.

Although the restaurant was completely booked, we got a table after a short waiting period. The food is excellent, the service is very attentive and reserved. The excellent wines are also available in small fillings. You can also drink a good wine without emptying a 0.75 l bottle. Great. We're coming back!

A super nice evening. A perfect team. The chosen food at the point, perfect. Besides the capu: a small minus point, I find it a little dark. But otherwise, happy again!
