Souls Ground Cafe - Benton Harbor

My partner and I tried the Mexi bowl and a vegan sandwich at this restaurant. We originally ordered the vegan turkey sandwich, but the staff kindly offered a grilled veggie sandwich as a milder alternative for my partner. The food was delicious, flavorful, and satisfying. For the vegan bowl, you can choose between two types of vegetable proteins - Falaco (a falafel-based protein) or Buckwheat Kasha. Both options provide a unique twist on a bowl or taco. I opted for the Kasha and it was delicious, but I plan to come back to try the Falaco. While the restaurant is no longer 100% vegan, they still offer plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. The chef and the menu continue to prioritize vegetables in their dishes.

I ordered the Audy Burger with a side of Potato Salad and a carrot cake cupcake. All was fantastic. The burger was loaded and the sauces were creamy and delicious. The potato salad was rich and so tasty. The cupcake tasted like one you'd buy at a bakery. The chef is very friendly and helpful. 12/10 recommend, and I'll definitely be stopping here once a week for my lunch break!

The menu at this restaurant is based on the fresh ingredients they receive. Each dish is carefully prepared after you order, so there may be a short wait, but it is definitely worth it. We opted for the vegan options, of which there were several to choose from. The presentation of the dishes was as beautiful and artistic as the flavors. We particularly enjoyed the Mexi shell and the Tacos with sides of Plantain, as well as the fried green tomato side. The freshly made juices were also a highlight, with the green juice standing out for its great taste and energy. This is how food should be experienced. This was one of the best meals we have ever had. It is truly underrated so we highly recommend spreading the word.

The restaurant was listed as completely vegan, but it actually offers meat and cheese options on the menu. Despite this, the vegan menu is limited but absolutely delicious! The Mexi bowl and tacos were particularly tasty. I will definitely be back for more delicious food next time I'm in town!

The Falaco was fantastic, really enjoyed food and would definitely be back for more vegan quality! Enjoy seeing a place like this.
