We arrived for lunch at the same time as two other diners, but the fire was quickly lit and the dining room had a welcoming atmosphere. We selected from the menu of the day for 18 euros. Started with bread and aioli, followed by a series of tapas dishes, including salmon roulade, pork balls, soup with quails egg, spinach and asparagus crepe. Then a main course from extensive choices, the pork in mushroom sauce is highly recommended. Finally choice of a number of desserts with the cheesecake and fruit coulis highly recommended. All served with a very nice wine or soft drinks. Service was very good, and the premises also has a bar with an open central fire, which I imagine would be popular with locals and provide a nice environment for a drink. Not an obvious restaurant but well worth searching out.
The menu we chose was 18€ a head a selection of tapas to start, then I had the tuna, my companions had rabbit duck. All excellent ! The desserts were good too, brownies fresh pineapple. With 2 bottles of very good tinto, the price was 54€ for the 3 of us. The waiter was charming, and even though we were the only customers, the fire was lit the atmosphere was warm.
Been eating here for years. Their tapas keep on coming. Best yet. Some meals are set priced menus but all delicious. We often eat weekday lunches on terrace on their cheap plastic chairs but the food and the welcome make this gem outstanding. Wonderful setting against towering mountain ranges. Great place for a walk around the Guadalest reservoir (5-6 miles). Old fashioned dark but comfortable restaurant. Try getting a place on a Sunday without booking! Full of well-heeled Spaniards who know what a good family meal is all about. Something must be right! Sunday lunch bit more expensive. Never been disappointed. Not haute cuisine just really good well-presented plate after plate. One of those places we come back to over and over again because it delivers value, excellence and consistency. Be surprised!
Hoy hemos subido a la cima de la aitana y nos hemos reservado para comer. tienen un buen menú para el fin de semana a 22€, calidad ratio muy buen precio y camareros muy atentos y profesionales. varias entradas, plato caliente principal y un buen postre para terminar. También hemos ofrecido algunos disparos de cortesía. muy buen ambiente después de caminar la montaña, muy acogedor. totalmente recomendado. ¡Volveremos!
Una gran experiencia muy buen restaurante y sobre todo gran precio de calidad destaca la buena predisposición del gerente su profesionalidad y su calidad humana poco más puedo decir sólo para venir a tratar y me lo dirás. Felicitaciones por ser como si fueras un hug josé maria.
