Pretty subpar for Gyu-kaku, in comparison to the other locations we’ve been to. Mind you, we used to frequent all of the Gyu-kaku locations down in southern California. In fact, Gyu-kaku was the venue of our first date (myself and my partner) and we were hoping to re-create this special outing with our two children up here in Washington: 1. The sukiyaki bibimbap is nothing like what we’ve had during previous dinners. Was not served in the hot stone like were used to seeing (substituted by a metal bowl). Subsequently, the dish did not form a nice crust at the bottom as we are used to having. 2. No Sapporo available in large bottles. Is this just unique to the Bellevue location? Or did this change across all Gyu-kaku locations? My partner and I remember sharing a large bottle of Sapporo every time we had dinner together. It was part of our little tradition. 3. No Japanese maple syrup/molasses available to top the vanilla ice cream. Is this another thing that changed? Or is this also unique to the Bellevue location? 4. No mushroom medley available for order at the Bellevue location. It’s not even as if they ran out of the product. I was just informed that the mushroom medley dish isn’t even offered at the Bellevue location. How could this possibly happen? Is this a supply chain thing? Or again, is this unique to the Bellevue location? How does a Gyu kaku branch not offer one of its most popular dishes?! Needless to say, we were quite disappointed in our experience and will not likely be going back anytime soon. I think my partner and I have just decided to save our Gyu-kaku cravings for whenever we fly back home to LA.
Service was great!! Very friendly and prompt. The food was great too. Will definitely be back.
For (3) ppl PORTIONS NOT ENOUGH ...but very Delicious
Not only was the food and service 10/10 but I forgot our credit card inside and staff was kind enough to chase us down at our car and give it back to us. Really nice people work here. Try it out!
