John Dorys - Belfast

We usually order from this restaurant every week, but last week the chips were extremely hard, so we ended up throwing everything away. We decided to try ordering from The Golden Chip instead, and will continue to order from there in the future.

Went with grandchildren to pick up food for treat dinner. Staff are lovely and when we wanted fish we could always depend on good quality fish at John Dory's Castlereagh. However, the fish we got yesterday was appalling. My grandson and I got two small pieces of the thinness pieces of fish and there was more batter than fish which was not up to usual standard. Even our dog who loves a piece of fish wouldn't eat it. Very disappointing. Will not be buying there again. Definitely a waste of money.

Batter so thick on pathetically small sliver of fish. The chips were alright but for paying 10.75 for the worst fish supper in my life.

The staff at this restaurant need better training. Some employees are wearing casual clothing like hats and hoodies instead of proper uniforms. The cleanliness of the fryer whites is also questionable. One person even walked in, wiped his dirty jumper, claimed it was full of sawdust, and then acted nonchalant. It's unclear how this restaurant received any stars at all.
