Fujiyama Japanese Steak House (beckley)

A great place to have a good experience with a great meal. I recommend to anyone to eat here.

I’ve rated two stars only because our hibachi chef was pretty cool. We came to eat here for my daughter’s birthday and even let them know it was her birthday. We spent A LOT and our tip was almost $40, but they did nothing related to the birthday. This was my daughters 13 year old celebration. Fuji is a great place to visit, whether stopping off the interstate or from town. The food is delicious. The hibachi grill is fun and they take extra care in engaging the kids.

Server was nice and attentive to our needs. Chef was friendly and engaging. Salad and grilled veggies were fresh and fried rice was good. However. The chicken was chewy and lacked seasoning. The lack of seasoning made the chicken and steak taste very bland. The restaurant is dated and looks very old inside and is in dire need of an update. Walking through the restaurant, I noticed a bad smell…almost sewer odor. Sadly, nothing appealing enough to make me ever want to go back.
