Bidrage med feedbackThere are not many izakaya options in Portland and Beaverton. After Afuri stopped serving skewers in Beaverton, I couldn't find any other place for Japanese grill food. Perhaps there is a hidden gem out there waiting to be discovered.
I came here to dine alone the other night after hearing great things from some friends. It was a cold night and I was ready for some good food.
I agree with the other reviews that it is best to arrive right when the restaurant opens. I arrived at 6:00 and by 6:15 all the tables were already full. The restaurant is very popular.
I am from japan, my extended family all own Japanese noodle restaurants in japan. I can tell them this food is definitiw authentic and tasty and reminds me of home! they are mastery with roast, we had fried squid, fried chicken, pan-fried gyoza, it was all just about the best version of those I had eaten. menu is varied, something for everyone.
Kakuni rams order it medium-spicy- actually spicy could be a bit too much, I no longer taste the actual tonkotsuspring roll good, but only 2 roll- loved like cheesy and flock it warroasted paprika would not be incredibly spicy- it tastes ok, but not all to write home over- to expensive for the cost-carage zir
