CAVEAU SAINT-JACQUES - Beaune

We visit the caveau st. jacques every time we are in awe. we visited again when there was for the vent of the vins. it's a wonderful place. We think it has the best pizza we've ever had. it's beautiful. the service is....New management is excellent. the weinlist is formidable, as one would expect in beaune. in the united states there is no place so good. we hope to come back.

A night on the way back from Spain, looking for a restaurant with a decent card and not the typical limited French choice and at a reasonable price and that looked good, so a reservation a week before. it wasn't. a bad choice, it was as the name indicates, it is a cave restaurant, German beer cellar type and we were met with very friendly service. eating was pretty good and cheap. we were in a nearby village, but after we have seen that beaune was a very beautiful French country town, we will stay next time in the city itself.

Beautiful meal, can not complain, staff very friendly. but I was not impressed by the fact that they were in a gitarist who came to collect money. they really spoil the evening, they feel intimidated. otherwise recommended.

We stumbled upon this place as we were passing through. What a find though. It's obviously an old wine cellar and makes for a charming atmosphere. The manager (perhaps the owner) was very friendly and entertaining and welcoming, and the food and wine were also...superb.
