Bissoh - Beaune

Experience at the counter always as pleasant. The place, service, cuisine, wines, everything is excellent. The list of wines is extraordinary. The dessert has been the same for years and much better. I secretly feed the hope of one day to be able to taste the pig again at low temperature that the chef once did.

The Bissoh is a small restaurant in which a chef/server duo works. I booked for six, including two children. I'm well informed on the phone that children need to take the same formulas as adults. I twist my mouth a little because it increases the budget of the evening but I accept: the rule is clearly explained before the reservation and I console it by saying that I will be able to enjoy the dishes of the little ones. Big mistake: when you propose a delicious dish, even to children, there is never anything left. I don't think kids eat kids' menus because they're forced to eat them! The service is very smiling, effective and consistent with the spirit of the restaurant (with a team picked up to the manettes it is necessary to plan 1h30/2h for the full service). The dishes are prepared in a small kitchen surrounded by the counter, to which guests can eat. I didn't go to Japan but that's how I imagine the little restaurants there! Here we don't drink his sushi with an old sauce soja wasabi: everything is already perfectly seasoned. Cooking meat and fish is extra, everything tastes, everything is delicious. In short for us it is a pleasure address that we book on some occasions for low financial reasons but if I could go more often, and I advise to try the adventure.
