Berto's Grill Tex Mex - Beaufort

I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 25 years and this is on par with some of the best Mexican restaurants out there. Berto n his family provide it all great service n food. Carnitas tacos my favorite

For a small town, Beaufort definitely has its fair share of Latin American restaurants. Deciding to try some place new, we headed to Habersham. The decor was a bit bare and cold. Didn't elicit a comfy cozy place to dine. The lunch crowd was thin. The menu really didn't offer any creative surprises. The gratis chips and salsa were ok, but have had better. Ordered the chicken flautas and was a bit disappointed as the thinner these rolled corn tortillas are, the harder they get and deliver little flavor since the filling is sparse. My dining companion had the tacos, and he enjoyed them, but not enough to make a special trip back. If we are craving some good South of the border grub, we will stick with the mom pop joints that are scattered throughout the area.

Although the appearance may be deceiving, the food and service at this restaurant are exceptional. They offer a wide variety of food options and beers, as well as a nice selection of liquor, all at reasonable prices. I definitely recommend coming to this restaurant with a hearty appetite.

We called and were asked to hold for two minutes. After waiting for about 13 minutes, they hung up the phone on us. When we called back to order two cheeseburgers, we were told they had sold out 5 minutes earlier. This was not good customer service. We were very disappointed with our local restaurant.

I always visit this restaurant whenever I come to Fripp Island. It may be a bit out of the way, but it is definitely worth it.
