Bidrage med feedbackBefore I begin, the food we had was fine...but...what has happened to this restaurant? To be fair, it is about a year since we last ate here but without being able to truly put my finger on it...things have changed. I'm sure that the waiters (note plural) used to wear uniforms - tonight's young lady (on her own, apparently) was wearing a pair of jeans and a checked shirt - looking as though she should be in a burger bar! Nothing wrong with that in particular but just indicative.Could I have a cider please? (on the menu) "we have none". A glass of Anjou Red please? " The bottle isn't open" - but it says available by the glass on the menu - so we did receive it....I'm sure we used to get canapes, dressed dishes and far more attention. Our starter was very nice. I ordered Maigret de canard and chips - which was cooked to my taste...but that is all I received...not so much as a lettuce leaf to dress the plate. Hubby ordered 'Fish and Chips' - they were fine as far as they went - but in a pub restaurant not a million miles away (about 20 minutes drive) you can get a decent portion of Fish and chips, cooked to perfection, served with Tartare sauce and Mushy peas and a decent portion of chips...for several euros less! Same with dessert - served naked - just a tiny piece of fruit or a mint leaf or something would have made all the difference. Perhaps they had replacement staff on?. Disappointing...we may not bother to return - there are better places, less expensive and with more ambience and attention to detail. Shame - oh and our French is good - if anyone who struggles with French had tried this, they would probably have got up and walked out!
Passing on the holiday return, we stopped in this restaurant on the advice of our host for the night. friendly welcome, pleasant small interior terrace (the weather was perfectly suited), simple but delicately spicy dishes, good quality meat. very good dessert ice.
In an unexpected building whose history is very well conted in preface to the map and by the very nice patron, a very nice patio, a tasty and original cuisine just what it takes, good advice for the wine ... in short, a great evening!
Everything had started well with a pleasant gaspacho. Then come the no-cooked trout nets, we make it notice to the server who tells us that they actually forgot to specify that it is mid-cooked nets... I knew the half-cooked foie gras but not the trout. homemade fries... potato yeasts cooked in an oil that has not been changed for months. the final bouquet with dessert, re-visited lemon pie, an ice ball (sorbet) with lemon placed on a crushed roudor enhanced with a meringue of abominable lid. Who are we kidding?
Small restaurant but mostly flavors at the rendezvous for the price. home very stalky, flat for small and large don't hesitate to enter and make your taste buds !!!
