Mayflower - Battleboro

$6.99 Lunch Special was the way to go. You get a drink plus your choice of 8 entrees, baked potato or fries, slaw and hush puppies. Lots of food for the money. Hot and fresh, too. The only thing I will say is the service was a little slow. Other than that, everyone was friendly.

We've been here twice, both during Covid. Our first visit bordered on quite good, and I posted a review then. On our second visit, I ordered fried flounder and found so many bones that I was unable to eat only less than 1/4 of my meal. Unfortunately, for a restaurant that I had hoped would become a regular for us, we won't be visit the Mayflower again.

We went for dinner, and we all are so disappointed. The quality of the food tonight (unlike before) was terrible. It looked appealing until you ate a few and it was so greasy. Plus, the waitress got offended when I asked her to please wear the mask around my parents (80 's). she was wearing it under her chin. Keep in mind everyone else was wearing a mask. The sweet tea was so bad we could not drink it. TERRIBLE. Would NOT recommend.

There were only a handful of people in the restaurant. We ordered the large friend shrimp platter and received BABY shrimp instead. I don't think beer or wine is ever available. The soda machine was out-of-order so all you could get was tea or water! (not even coffee! baby shrimp were eh! didn't want to bother o get order corrected as we were starving. AND if you didn't want to pay with cash there was a SURCHARGE!!

Always tasty on every selection. But the portion sizes were awesome. I have never been to a sea food restaurant that had portions this big for such a low price. Will be going back soon.
